Our online GIS Mapping course intakes are now open!
Following on from our very busy GIS Mapping courses held all over Northland, we identified a need to develop an online learning space so you can continue to access the tools that you need from anywhere in the world. We have been busy developing an online learning system which covers the fundamental learning aspects of geospatial technology, navigating the software to an advanced 14 week course which includes site visits and an opportunity to develop your own project.

Fundamentals of GIS Mapping (7 Weeks)

Developing a project from start to finish (14 Weeks)
This course covers 7 topics online to help provide a basic level of understanding in GIS Mapping solutions. The content is pre-recorded and the course is self-paced. All students receive log-in details to access the learning space and will be quizzed once per week over a 7 week duration. Access to support.
This course includes 7 weeks of pre-recorded content which covers the basic fundamentals of GIS mapping and then students meet with the kaiako (teacher) online every week for 10 weeks from 6pm-8pm every Thursday. Students can bring their own project along or create one while on the course.
This online course runs for 14 weeks and includes 2 site visits and 1 in-person wānanga. The aim is to develop a project from start to completion, whether your own project or one chosen by the kaiako (teacher). To navigate a real-life topic provides students with an in-depth insight into a working project on the ground. Access to support. Student log-in and hands-on experience across Northland.
